North Carolina freestyler Chloe Mikles will be an Ivy Leaguer next fall, as she has made a verbal commitment to swim at Cornell University.

“I absolutely fell in love with Cornell – the school, the team, the coaches, and everything about it,” Mikles said about her college choice. “I am so grateful to have this opportunity and contribute to the Big Red for the next four years!”

Mikles is part of the three-time state high school title winners at the Ravenscroft School. She won the 50 and 100 free North Carolina state high school championships with times of 24.11 and 51.94, in addition to being a part of the winning 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Just a week later, Mikles dropped her 100 free lifetime best to 51.47 at the North Carolina senior state meet.

Mikles could also help Cornell in the 200 freestyle with a lifetime best 1:52.25. As is the case with most sprint freestylers, she has potential in the 100 fly as well with a personal best 58.95.
