NEW COMMIT: George Washington University has received their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Raleigh, N.C. native Bode Ringenbach.

He told Swimming World:

“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at George Washington University. I would like to thank my friends, family, and coaches for helping me through this process. Raise high!”

A versatile swimmer, Ringenbach does his club swimming with Marlins of Raleigh and owns multiple Junior National standards. He most recently recorded five top-12 finishes at Cary Sectionals in March and placed 23rd in the 200 breast at Juniors East in December.

Last summer, he registered six best times at Greensboro Sectionals before going on to finish seventh in both the 200m breast and 400m IM at Greensboro Futures.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 56.37
  • 200 breast – 2:01.92
  • 200 IM – 1:51.34
  • 400 IM – 3:57.46
  • 500 free – 4:39.85
  • 1650 free – 16:01.01

Also competing for the Ravenscroft School, Ringenbach is a six-time NCISAA State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 100 breast and 200 free as a junior while taking first in the 500 free and second in the 200 IM during his sophomore season.

Ringenbach will make an immediate impact when he suits up for the Colonials as a member of the class of 2025. He would’ve scored in the A-final of the 400 IM as well as the B-final of the 100 breast and 200 breast at the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championships where George Washington finished second overall in the team standings.
