North Carolina 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships

RALEIGH, North Carolina, February 16. AT the NCHSAA 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships, the Providence girls took first place with 221 points, followed by Leesville Road (177) and East Chapel Hill (171). The North Mecklenburg boys touched out Providence for first place, scoring 290 points and 287 points respectively. Enloe took third with 158 points.

Girls Individual Results
Five-star recruit in the Swimming World College Recruit rankings powered by Take Your Marks, Lauren Perdue (Rose, J.H.), had first-place finishes in the 50 (23.08) and 100 (49.80) freestyles, setting state records in each.

Cary's Torrey Bussey won the 200 IM (2:03.19). She also set the state record in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.81).

Julie Doran of Holly Springs outscored her opponents in the diving competition with 429.55 points. Amanda MacCreery of Green Hope placed second (368.35), while Elise Stave (East Chapel Hill) took third (317.30).

The Hopewell 200 medley relay team clocked a 1:48.33 for a first-place finish while Leesville Road took first place in the 200 (1:38.54) and 400 (3:32.11) freestyle relays.

Boys Individual Results
Senior Ben Correll (Providence) took first place in the 200 (1:40.11) and 500 (4:33.38) freestyles.

East Gaston's Ryan Hawkins won the diving competition (513.60), followed by seniors Ryland Jones (512.50) and Nick Klein (455.25) of East Chapel.

North Mecklenburg won the 200 freestyle relay (1:27.60), while Providence placed first in the 200 medley (1:35.43) and 400 freestyle (3:08.14) relays.
