Nicklas Bohn, Charlie Hawke Announce Verbals to Alabama’s Class of 2025

NEW COMMITS: The University of Alabama has recently received a pair of verbal commitments for the fall of 2021 from Cummings, Ga. native Nicklas Bohn and Charlie Hawke of Rankin Park, Australia.

Both swimmers will join Braden Rollins, William Watson, Ben HinesMateo MiceliNikolas Lee-Bishop and Holden Smith in Tuscaloosa as members of the class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am very happy and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the University of Alabama! With the amazing academics, swim program, facilities, coaches and team, I knew it was the best fit for me! I cannot give enough thanks to my coaches Brian Wrighton, Ian Murray and Mary Buzeta, my parents, friends and teammates who have helped me to achieve this great opportunity. I’m looking forward to being part of the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s swim team! “Roll Tide””

A versatile swimmer, Bohn swims year-round with Dynamo Swim Club and owns four Junior National time standards. He most recently earned seven best times at the Southern Premier Invitational where his highest finish was an eight-place showing in both the 200 IM and 200 free. He raced three events at Juniors East and collected bronze in the 100m back at the Georgia Open last summer.

His best times include:

  • 1000 free – 9:44.00
  • 1650 free – 16:02.13
  • 100 back – 51.13
  • 200 back – 1:50.29
  • 100 breast – 56.69

  • 200 fly – 1:55.09
  • 200 IM – 1:50.77
  • 400 IM – 3:55.23

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“It’s an honour to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Alabama. I’m looking forward to working with the amazing coaches and team. Thank you to my coaches, family, and friends who have supported me throughout my swimming journey thus far. ROLL TIDE!”

Hawke competes year-round with Hunter Swimming Club and is also a member of the New South Wales Emerging Talent Squad. He most recently notched nine lifetime bests at NSW Senior State Age Group Championships and finished in the top-8 in eight different events at the Australian LCM Age Group Championships last spring where he grabbed bronze in the 100m fly.
