Michele Tafoya, one of the top NFL reporters, will be covering swimming at the 2016 Olympic Games, according to reports from Sporting News.

The two-time Emmy winner has worked at four Olympic Games for NBC, but this will be her first time doing swimming coverage. She will be joining Dan Hicks and Rowdy Gaines who will be covering their sixth straight Games. In 2012, the duo was joined by Andrea Kremer.

Hicks and Gaines worked with Tafoya at World Championships in Kazan last summer. “That experience was an excellent introduction to the sport and to the world’s best competitors,” said Tafoya.

Rowdy Gaines took to Twitter to share his excitement for working with his co-commentator.

She has covered one meet that I know of. She seems to be a pro do hopefully she will do homework. If she has a FB page let’s encourage her to do that and give the greatest American sport it’s due.

She’s definitely a solid reporter all around.

Does she even know anything about it? Hopefully she’ll just do interviews of the swimmers and keep Rowdy and Dan as the commentators.

To be very honest I think it’s time for a whole new crew to be commentating on swimming. It’s time for a new era!
