New Mexico State Picks Up Commitment from Zoey Dodson of Tualatin Hills Swim Club

NEW COMMIT: New Mexico State University has received a new commitment for the fall of 2021 from Futures qualifier Zoey Dodson of Portland, Ore.

She will join Bella Cratsenberg and Emilee Ferrari of Annandale, Va. as a member of the Aggies’ Class of 2025.

She told Swimming World:

“I have chosen NMSU because of the amazing team family and atmosphere. I am immensely ecstatic about joining such a solid and strong group of female athletes! A gigantic thank you to my coaches and family for all of their support through this process. Go AGGIES!?⚪️?⚫️”

Dodson, who trains year-round with Tualatin Hills Swim Club, most recently earned a best time at Four Corner Sectionals last month where she finaled in the 500 free. She was the 200 fly runner-up at Oregon Seniors in 2020 as well.

In Summer 2019, she notched a lifetime best at Mount Hood Sectionals before going on to take fourth in both the 200m free and 800m free at the Oregon 11&O LCM Championships.

Her best times include:

200 fly – 2:05.6
200 free – 153.9
500 free – 5:03.5
1650 – 17:50.0

Also competing for Sunset High School, Dodson is a four-time individual Oregon 6A State Championship finalist. She placed fourth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 fly as a junior while taking fourth and sixth, respectively, in those events during her rookie campaign.

Under head coach Rick Pratt, New Mexico State finished second overall in the team standings at the 2021 Western Athletic Conference Championships.
