NEW COMMIT: The University of Nebraska has earned their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Kingwood, Texas.

Lloyd, who owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 200 back, does her club swimming with Blue Tide Aquatics and most recently earned silver in the 200m back at Southern Zone Seniors where she also earned four best times. Last winter, she raced her signature event at Juniors West before and had three top-12 finishes at Gulf Southern Seniors.

A current junior at Kingwood High School, Lloyd is a two-time Texas 6A State Championship finalist and has earned NISCA All-American honors as a member of the 4×50 free relay. She placed eighth in the 100 back as a sophomore after taking 16th in that event during her freshman season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to continue my academic and athletic career. The moment I met the team and coaches I knew Nebraska was the place for me. I cannot wait to be apart of the Husker family, GO BIG RED!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 56.18
  • 200 back – 2:00.05
  • 200 IM – 2:06.23

Lloyd will add valuable backstroke depth to the Husker’s lineup when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2025. She has consistently made improvements each season, shaving off three seconds in the 100 back and seven seconds in the 200 back over the past two years.
