The Day 2 prelims at the NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships picked up just where the speed left off on Thursday.

For Friday night’s final, Caeleb Dressel will be in the spotlight again. He has the top seed in the 100 butterfly in 44.37. Indiana’s Vini Lanza, Texas senior Joseph Schooling and NC State’s Ryan Held follow in the event.

Cal’s Andrew Seliskar has the top seed in the 400 IM ahead of Jonathan Roberts of Texas and Gunnar Bentz of Georgia.

In the 200 free, Texas junior Townley Haas has the top seed ahead of a packed field that includes, in seeded order, Auburn’s Zach Apple, USC’s Dylan Carter, Indiana’s Blake Pieroni and Harvard’s Dean Farris.

In the 100 breast, Indiana’s Ian Finnerty has the top seed ahead of Cal’s Connor Hoppe and USC’s Carsten Vissering.

In the 100 backstroke, USC’s Robert Glinta has the top seed ahead of NC State’s Andreas Vazaios and John Shebat of Texas.

The 200 medley relay had USC with the top seed ahead of Cal and Florida. Dressel went 17.30 on the anchor leg.
