NCAA Div. I Women: Rice Whips San Jose State

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 16. RICE moved its dual meet record to a perfect 3-0 Saturday afternoon, as the Owls defeated Western Athletic Conference foe
San Jose State 129-72 at the SJSU Aquatics Center.

There was no men's meet as both schools have abolished their men's teams in cynically meeting Title IX "gender equity" requirements.

Five Owls won their respective events today, with Lauren Hill leading the way for Rice, capturing first place in both the 200 individual medley and 100
breaststroke.

Other winners for the Owls were Jackie Corcoran (1,650 freestyle), Laura Healey (100 free), Mandy Mularz (100 backstroke) and Corrie Kristick (500 free).

Rice finishes its West Coast swing tomorrow with a dual meet at Cal-Berkeley. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon (10 a.m. PST).
