NC State Wolfpack Earn 2027 Verbal Pledge From Abi Paton
NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Abi Paton out of Indianapolis, Indiana, has announced her verbal commitment to NC State University for 2027-28. She is a talented sprint freestyler with Junior National cuts.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at NC State University. I want to give the biggest thanks to my friends, teammates, family, Coach Keller and Coach Alec for always supporting me. I also want to give a huge thank you to Coach Braden, Coach Stef, and the whole NC State coaching staff. I am so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to be apart of this amazing team. GO PACK!!!”
Paton does her club swimming with Fishers Area Swimming Tigers. She most recently won six events at last month’s FAST Winter Classic while hitting best times in six different races. Last summer, she finaled in three events at Columbus Speedo Sectionals before going on to race at Junior Nationals.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 24.26
- 100 free – 51.87
- 200 free – 1:50.58
- 100 fly – 55.11
Currently a junior at Park Tudor School, Paton finished eighth in the 100 fly at the 2025 Indiana State Championships after winning that event at sectionals.
