NC State Splashes Into 2028 Recruiting With Verbal From CARIFTA Champion Jaden Mills
NEW COMMIT: North Carolina State University has earned its first public verbal commitment for Fall 2028, as Jaden Mills announced his verbal commitment. Hailing from Chattanooga, Tenn., Mills is a Junior National qualifier and successful sprinter.
He will arrive in Raleigh as a member of the Wolfpack’s Class of 2032.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“It’s now my turn to say that i’m proud to announce that I’ll be continuing my academic and athletic career at North Carolina State University. Thank you to the Lord, my mother, family, coach Zane, Stan, Jovan, Dexter, and everyone who has believed in me and pushed me along the way. I’m grateful for every step and sacrifice that brought me here. Huge thanks to Coach Braden and the wolf pack staff for giving me this opportunity! Raleigh, I’ll see you soon. GO WOLF PACK!”
A talented freestyler and butterflyer, Mills does his club swimming with McCallie GPS Aquatics in the United States. He placed 21st in the 50 free at Juniors East in December.
Mills also represents Trinidad and Tobago internationally. He most recently competed at the T&T SCM National Age Group Championships where he won all six of his events in July, just a few months after claiming the top spot in all five of his events at the T&T LCM National Age Group Championships in February.
He won the 50m fly at the XXXIX CARIFTA Aquatic Championships in April where he also took second in the 50m free, fifth in the 100m fly and sixth in the 100m back. In 2024, he produced five top-12 finishes at the PanAm Aquatics Age Group Championships.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 20.00
- 100 free – 45.59
- 50 fly – 22.66
- 100 fly – 49.64
A junior at McCallie School in Tennessee, Mills placed third in the 50 free and fourth in the 100 free at the 2026 TISCA Championships, helping his team win the 4×50 medley relay and take second in the 4×50 free relay.
NC State finished sixth at the 2026 NCAA Championships after placing third at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.
