National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association and Swimming World Magazine Extend 45-Year Relationship

PHOENIX, Arizona, August 22. THE National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) renewed its long standing relationship with Swimming World Magazine as its Official Publication today.

Swimming World Magazine first became the Official Publication for NISCA in September of 1961. (See attached PDF for first mention of the relationship) Both entities have changed through the years, but their goal of promoting and recognizing high school aquatics has never wavered.

Swimming World Magazine will promote NISCA in all of its media properties including SwimmingWorldMagazine.com and SwimmingWorld.TV. It will continue to crown the High School Swimmers of the Year and the High School National Team Champions each fall. In addition, Swimming World Magazine will recognize NISCA All Americans and High School State results after each season along with current standings in the NISCA Power Point Rankings twice a year.

A key component of the relationship centers on increasing membership into NISCA’s association. For the second year in a row, NISCA and Swimming World Magazine partnered to send out 10,500 membership forms to every high school aquatic program in the country.

“We need to work hand-in-hand with NISCA to make sure that we help them achieve their goals. We want to see a dramatic increase in high school coaches joining NISCA and attending their annual clinic during the NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships,” said Brent Rutemiller – Publisher of Swimming World Magazine.

The NISCA Clinic is unique since it is during the NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships every year. Next spring, between the dates of March 14-17, high school coaches from all over the country will gather at the University of Minnesota to attend NISCA’s morning workshops and talks followed by NCAA Championship swimming and diving each evening. The entire experience is always educational and motivational.

"NISCA is proud to be associated with Swimming World Magazine," NISCA President Mark Onstott said. "Swimming World Magazine has been THE history book of swimming for the past 45 years, chronicling everything from age group, to high school, college and international events and swimmers. If it happened in swimming, you read about it in Swimming World Magazine. NISCA is proud to be associated with this vibrant voice of swimming and swimmers worldwide. With the advent of the internet, Swimming World Magazine has become the destination on the web for swimming. We look forward to an exciting future as we continue to work together promoting aquatic sports."

Dana Abbott, NISCA National Marketing Director, commented further saying that, “NISCA is pleased to extend and expand its relationship with Swimming World Magazine. In the 45-year history of our association, we have seen tremendous growth and changes in the high school swimming scene, and Swimming World Magazine has always been there to chronicle and promote our sport. NISCA has confidence and enthusiasm for the direction and goals publisher Brent Rutemiller has developed with the NISCA leadership team, and we look forward to a mutually beneficial synergy. Swimming World Magazine and SwimmingWorldMagazine.com combine to provide a COMPLETE one-stop shop for everything connected to competitive swimming. NISCA is proud to proclaim Swimming World Magazine as its official swimming magazine.”
