MPSSAA 3A2A1A High School State Swimming Championships

LANDOVER, Maryland, March 5. FALLSTON won the boy's title at the MPSSAA 3A2A1A High School State Swimming Championships. Walkersville and Northern followed closely with scores of 210.5 and 205.5 respectively. The girls of Queen Anne's took first place (233), while Frederick placed second (221) and Middletown finished third (160).
Boys Results
Easton took first in the 200 medley relay (1:47.23). John Hall, Jacob Alyward, Gregory Remesch, and Charles Cauffman contributed to the win.
Kent Island's Wade Boarman set state records in the 50 (21.45) and 100 (47.35) freestyles.
Ben Williamsz, Eric Carr, Andrew Lacosse, and Chris Cranford (Northern) won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.72.
Dylan Davis (Annapolis) won the 500 freestyle (4:55.56). He also set a state record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.23.
Senior Paul Zoli (Fallston) won the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.53. He teamed up with Ross Twanmoh, Dylan Howell, and James Blinkenstaff for a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:28.72). Howell also won the 200 freestyle (1:51.07).
Girls Results
Queen Anne's won two of three relays. Alison Robertson, Kaitlin Rash, Devin Lessard, and Kelsey Lessard took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:56.39. D. Lessard also won the 100 butterfly (59.54).
Sophomore Selena Martin (Baltimore Polytechnic) had individual wins in the 200 (1:56.82) and 500 (5:09.54) freestyles.
Mallory McMahon, Emily McWilliams, Kathryn Adams, and Taylor McWilliams (Cambridge) clocked a first-place finishing time of 1:47.10 in the 200 freestyle relay.
D. Lessard, K. Lessard, Olivia Wojotowicz, and Robertson closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:49.68).
