NEW COMMIT: Oakton, Va. native Nick Highman has announced his verbal intention to swim for Lehigh University beginning in the fall of 2019.

Currently swimming for Nation’s Capital Swim Club, Highman most recently swam at NCSAs this summer where recorded a trio of lifetime bests. He notched a pair of best times at NCSAs in March after a strong showing at the Tom Dolan Invite in December. Also swimming for Oakton High School, Highman placed 13th in the 200 IM at the Virginia 6A State Championships as a junior.

He told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to be able to continue both my academics and athletics at Lehigh University next Fall! Thank you to all of my coaches and friends who have helped me along the way!”

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 58.93
  • 200 breast – 2:07.81
  • 100 free – 49.09
  • 200 IM – 1:57.30

Highman will add valuable depth to Lehigh’s breaststroke group when he suits up as a member of the class of 2023. Although he sits just outside of scoring range at the 2018 Patriot League Championships, his best 100 breast would’ve ranked second on the Mountain Hawks’ lineup last year and he’ll join a training group led by Tyler Christ.
