Montana State Record Holder Dylon Flikkema Chooses Arizona For 2027
NEW COMMIT: Manhattan, Montana native Dylon Flikkema has announced her verbal commitment to continue her academic and swimming career at the University of Arizona. The Junior National qualifier will arrive in Tucson in Fall 2027.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am extremely blessed and excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Arizona to continue my academic and athletic career. I want to thank my parents, friends, and coaches, especially Coach Matt, Coach Sara, and Coach Kyle, for their continued support throughout my swimming journey. Without them I would not be who or where I am today! I would also like to give a huge thanks to Coach Ben, Pete, and Lauren along with the rest of the Arizona staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. BEAR DOWN!!”
A talented backstroker, Flikkema does her club swimming with Bozeman Barracudas Swim Club. She most recently won five events at Western Zone Senior Championships in March after winning all seven of her events at Montana State Championships in February. She placed 15th in the 100 back at Juniors West in December, and she finaled in the 200m back at Madison Futures last summer.
Her best times include:
- 50 back – 25.69
- 100 back – 54.09
- 200 back – 2:01.93
- 200 IM – 2:03.66
- 50 free – 23.52
- 100 free – 51.88
- 200 free – 1:51.94
Currently a junior at Belgrade High School, Flikkema won the 100 back and 200 IM at the Montana State Championships in 2024 and 2025. She owns the state record in the 100 back.
The Wildcats finished second at the 2026 Big 12 Conference Championships.
