MLY Phoenix’s Jackson Brookover, Spenser DuBois, & Jack Rowe Make College Choices

NEW COMMITS: A trio of MLY Phoenix seniors have announced their college choices: Jackson Brookover will attend Penn State, Spenser DuBois has selected Montclair State, and Jack Rowe will swim for Franklin & Marshall.

JACKSON BROOKOVER

A versatile swimmer, the Cherry Hill, N.J. native placed ninth in the 100m back this past summer at Middle Atlantic Seniors en route to earning a pair of best times. He finished 19th in the 200 fly at YMCA Nationals in April and took fifth in the 200 IM at last season’s Winterfest Championships. Also competing for Cherry Hill High School East, he raced to seventh in the 100 fly and eighth in the 100 back at the NJ Meet of Champions during his junior season.

He told Swimming World:

“I’m super excited to announce I will be continuing my academic and swimming career at Penn State! I would like to thank my family, my friends, and to all my coaches for trusting me along the process #weare #pennstate”

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 21.45
  • 100 fly – 50.54
  • 200 fly – 1:52.72
  • 100 back – 50.93
  • 200 back – 1:50.55

SPENSER DUBOIS

A talented a breaststroker, DuBois finaled in the 200m breast this past summer at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors. Also hailing from Cherry Hill, N.J., he recorded a pair of best times in both breaststroke events at YMCA Nationals in April and placed fifth in the 200 breast at the Winterfest Championships in January. He has seen consistent time drops over the past two years, shaving four seconds in the 100 breast and 10 seconds in the 200 breast.

He told Swimming World:

“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be continuing my academic and swimming career at Montclair State University. I want to thank my friends, family, and coaches. Go Red Hawks!”

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:00.12
  • 200 breast – 2:09.24
  • 200 IM – 2:04.50

JACK ROWE

Primarily a freestyler, Rowe capped off his summer season with a best time at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors. The Mt. Laurel, N.J. native placed 19th in the mile at the NJ YMCA Championships last winter before going on to earn three gold medals at Middle Atlantic Silvers. He has made tremendous improvements over the past year, dropping 12 seconds in the 200 free, 27 seconds in the 500 free, and well over two minutes in the mile.

He told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Franklin and Marshall College to continue my academic and swimming career! Thank you to all my friends, teammates, and coaches for all the support they have given me throughout the years. Thank you to my family, my number one supports for all the constant love they have given me. I cannot wait for the next four years #godips”

His best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:49.14
  • 500 free – 4:53.12
  • 1000 free – 10:38.93
  • 1650 free – 16:58.01
