NEW COMMIT: The University of Missouri has officially entered the Class of 2027 recruiting game as the Tigers have received their first verbal commitment for 2023 from Junior National qualifier Logan Ottke of Morrow, Ohio.

He told Swimming World:

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Missouri. Thank you to Coach Grevers and the rest of the Mizzou coaching staff for the opportunity! I’m so grateful to my Rays coaches, CHCA coaches and teachers, Scott at CFF, my teammates and especially my family for their support. Go Tigers!”

Ottke, who does his club swimming with Mason Manta Rays, most recently earned bronze in the 100m breast at the ISCA Summer Senior Blast where he also recorded six additional top-18 finishes. Last winter, he earned best times in all of his events at Elkhart Sectionals after placing fifth in the 200 breast at the 18&U Winter Championships in Oxford.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 55.80
  • 200 breast – 2:03.83
  • 100 fly – 50.05
  • 50 free – 21.64
  • 100 free – 47.09

Currently a junior at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Ottke is already a four-time Ohio State Championship finalist. He placed third in the 100 breast and fifth in the 100 free as a sophomore while taking ninth and 10th, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.

Under head coach Andrew Grevers, the Tigers finished sixth at the 2021 SEC Championships.
