Missouri State Champion Matthew Judkins Stays In State With Verbal to Mizzou

NEW COMMIT: The University of Missouri has gained a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from in-state standout Matthew Judkins of St. Charles, Mo.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I chose Mizzou because of the amazing team and coaching staff. It will be a great place to pursue a career in engineering.”

A butterfly specialist, Judkins last competed at Columbia Sectionals where he won the 200 fly, earned bronze in the 100 fly and took fifth in the 50 fly. He flew to 18th place in the 200 fly at Juniors West back in December, too.

He swims year-round for Parkway Swim Club.

His best times include:

  • 50 fly – 22.21
  • 100 fly – 48.47
  • 200 fly – 1:46.54
  • 200 IM – 1:51.64
  • 400 IM – 4:08.82

A rising senior at Chaminade College Prep, Judkins won both the 100 fly and 200 IM at the 2022 Missouri Class 1 State Championships. He finished first and fourth, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season.
