NEW COMMIT: The University of Kansas has received a new verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Brookline, Missouri native and Futures qualifier Maggie Moore.

She will join Hailey Farrell and Lydia Lafferty as a member of the Jayhawks’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“So excited to announce that I have verbally committed to continue my swim and academic career at the University of Kansas! Very thankful for the opportunity and for my family, coaches and friends who have encouraged me along the way!! I am overjoyed to be a jayhawk!!! #rcjh!❤️?”

A sprinter and backstroker, Moore does her club swimming with Springfield Aquatics and most recently placed 15th in the 100m free at Lenexa Sectionals last month after posting four top-15 finishes at Jenks Sectionals in March.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.50
  • 100 free – 53.12
  • 100 back – 55.74
  • 200 back – 2:07.99

Also competing for New Covenant Academy, Moore is a four-time individual Missouri Class 1 State Championship finalist. She won both the 50 free and 100 back as a sophomore and as a junior.

Moore is a greta pickup for the Jayhawks and will add valuable depth both individually and on relays. She would’ve ranked fourth in the 100 back and fifth in the 50 free last year on their lineup, and would’ve scored in the B-final of the 50 free at the 2021 Big 12 Championships.
