Michigan State Secures Commitment from Fox Valley Swim Team’s Jack Hiss

NEW COMMIT: Naperville, Ill. native Jack Hiss has announced his commitment to Michigan State as a member of the class of 2023.

Hiss does his club swimming with Fox Valley Swim Team and most recently competed at NCSAs where he recorded four lifetime bests. He earned bronze in the 500 free at the Illinois Senior Championships with five additional top-20 finishes after taking third in the 200m fly at NCSAs this past summer. Also competing for Neuqua Valley High School, Hiss is a three-time Illinois State Championship finalist. He placed third in the 500 free and ninth in the 200 free as a senior after taking 11th in the former during his junior season.

He told Swimming World:

“I loved Michigan State when I first stepped foot on campus, the coaching staff and team were amazing and there is no place I would rather be than Michigan State University! Go Green!” 

His best times include:

  • 200 IM – 1:54.95
  • 200 free – 1:40.87
  • 500 free – 4:33.26
  • 1000 free – 9:29.77

When he arrives in East Lansing for the 2019-20 season, Hiss will add his talents to a training group that’ll include Aidan FarleyGuy Moskovic and Josh Lantow. Hiss has continuously made improvements over the past two season, dropping seven seconds in the 200 IM, four seconds in the 200 free, 10 seconds in the 500 free and well over a minute in the 1000 free.
