Michigan Lower Peninsula Division III Girls High School State Championships

ROCHESTER, Michigan, December 17. BIRMINGHAM Marian (355), East Grand Rapids (246) and Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood (227) showcased the Lower Peninsula Girls Division III High School State Championships.
Division III records were set in nearly every event, beginning with the 200 medley relay. Maeve McHugh, Rachel Dekar, Alex Miller and Taylor Abbott of Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood finished first with a time of 1:45.46.
In addition to the relay, Dekar set an individual record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.58.
Junior Randi Brown (East Grand Rapids) outscored her competitors to win the diving competition (454.85).
Bloomfield Hills' Katherine Carl swept the sprint races of the meet, while Milan's Maura Donahue swept the distance events. Carl won the 50 freestyle (23.24) and the 100 freestyle (51.15). She earned Division III records in each. Donahue had first-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:52.51) and the 500 freestyle (5:00.00).
The quartet of Stephanie Berg, Molly Schaefer, Katie Pulte and Maggie Brabbins (Birmingham Marian) won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.87.
Erin Cameron of Gibraltar Carlson set records in the 200 IM (2:05.40) and the 100 backstroke (55.68).
Brabbins, Schaefer and Pulte joined Hayley Johnson to close the meet with a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:35.39).
