Michigan Lower Peninsula Division I Girls High School State Championships

YPSILANTI, Michigan, December 17. AT the Lower Peninsula Division I Girls High School State Championships, Ann Arbor Pioneer scored 349.5 points to win the state title. Ann Arbor Huron placed second (165) and Novi took third (160).
Ann Arbor Pioneer swept the relays. Ashley Cohagen, Valerie Barthelemy, Molly Shanley and Laura Cameron combined for a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:47.60).
Barthelemy won the 200 IM, nearly touching out Anna DeMonte of Ann Arbor Huron. She finished with a time of 2:03.29, .46 seconds ahead of DeMonte. Barthelemy also won the 100 breaststroke (1:05.69).
Temperance Bedford's Cheyenne Cousineau scored 483.80 points in the diving competition, creating a Division I record.
Cohagen had dual individual wins in the 100 butterfly (55.38) and 100 backstroke (55.30). Her teammate, Hanna Cowley, won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.32. She also won the 100 freestyle in 50.74.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Barthelemy, Kristina Jaeger, Paige Kostishak and Cowley took the finished first with a time of 1:37.16.
Jaegar, Kostishak, Cohagen and Cowley closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:31.82).
