NEW COMMIT: Georgetown University has just received a verbal pledge from Michael Baldini, who will make his way from West Hartford, Conn. to Washington, DC in the fall of 2019.

Baldini does his club swimming with West Hartford Aquatic Team and most recently competed at the TYR Senior Championships where he recorded three lifetime bests and made seven final appearances. He had an extremely successful showing at the ISCA Northeast Showcase in March, notching best times in all of his events and winning the 50 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 fly and 200 IM. He is also a six-time Connecticut Senior Championship finalist.

He told Swimming World:

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at Georgetown University. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend a school with such dedicated coaches and student athletes. Many thanks to my family, coaches and teammates for all of their support. I am looking forward to my future at Georgetown! Hoya Saxa!”

His best times include:

  • 200 IM – 1:52.88
  • 400 IM – 4:05.43
  • 100 breast – 57.75
  • 200 breast – 2:10.49

Georgetown, who finished third in the team standings at the 2018 Big East Championships, have gained a valuable pickup in Baldini; he would’ve placed in the B-final of all four of his aforementioned best times at last season’s conference meet.
