GREENSBORO, North Carolina, December 13. THE 14-year-old professional swimmer Michael Andrew finally had a breakthrough swim here at the USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals with a 13-14 U.S. National Age Group record in the 100-yard fly.
During prelims, Andrew clocked a time of 48.40 to beat his previous mark of 48.78. Overall, Andrew has eight entries in the short course yard national age group books. He owns the 100 IM for 10-and-under with a 1:01.31, as well as the 50 free (21.85), 100 free (47.95), 50 breast (27.46), 50 fly (23.65), 100 IM (53.86) for 11-12.
The 100 fly is his second 13-14 record as of right now, with a 55.96 in the 100-yard breast as well.
