NEW COMMIT: Miami Ohio has officially begun its Class of 2027 recruiting after receiving a verbal commitment from Futures qualifier Lauren Gualtieri of Palm Harbor, Florida.
She told Swimming World:

Gualtieri trains year-round with Tampa Bay Aquatic Club and is primarily a distance freestyler. She had a great showing at Huntsville Futures this past summer, placing ninth in both the 800m free and 1500m free as well as 16th in the 400m free.
Her best times include:
- 100 free – 53.41
- 200 free – 1:51.82
- 500 free – 4:54.12
- 1650 free – 16:51.56
Currently a junior at Clearwater Central Catholic High School, Gualtieri placed seventh in the 500 free and 15th in the 200 free at the 2021 Florida 1A State Championships. She raced to second and fourth, respectively, in those events as a freshman.
Gualtieri is a big get for the RedHawks, as she would’ve scored in the A-final of the 500 free and the B-final of the 200 free at the 2021 MAC Championships. Her best mile time would’ve also landed her in fifth place at last year’s conference meet.
