Meredith Moellering Will Stay In-State With Verbal to the Buckeyes
NEW COMMIT: The Buckeyes have picked up versatile in-state swimmer Meredith Moellering, who will make the move from Cincinnati to Columbus in the fall of 2019.
Moellering does her club swimming with ME Lyons Anderson YMCA and is a five-time Junior National qualifier. She concluded her long course season at YMCA LCM Nationals where she achieved six new personal bests and was a two-time finalist. She also had a strong showing at YMCA Nationals in April, setting eight lifetime bests and qualifying for three finals.
Moellering also swims for Saint Ursula Academy and is a four-time Ohio State Championship finalist. The NISCA All-American placed seventh in the 500 free (5:00.48) and ninth in the 100 fly (55.43) at the State meet as a junior. During her sophomore campaign, she finished fourth in the 500 (4:57.66).
She told Swimming World:
“I chose Ohio State because of the incredible program and academics. The state of the art facilities and top tier coaching staff made it an easy decision. I immediately fell in love with the team spirit and supportive atmosphere, and I know I will be able to succeed in and out of the water. Can’t wait to be a part of the Buckeye family!”
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 54.80
- 200 fly – 2:01.33
- 400 IM – 4:22.11
- 100 back – 56.86
