The last day of the 2018 Phillips 66 Nationals is the last opportunity for swimmers to get on the plane to Japan for Pan Pacs. Melanie Margalis and Ella Eastin are not on the team yet and have a chance to qualify tonight for the 200 IM. Margalis is a second and a half ahead of second place Evie Pfeifer of Longhorn Aquatics. Margalis is seeded first with a 2:10.13 to Pfeifer’s 2:11.66.

The race for second place looks to be up for grabs behind Margalis. Alex Walsh (2:11.83), Kathleen Baker (2:11.87) and Eastin (2:12.01) are within striking distance of getting second place. Baker is the only one already on the team after winning the 100 back in a new world record, as well as winning the 200 back on Thursday.

Meghan Small (2:12.50), Brooke Forde (2:13.31) and Emma Barksdale (2:13.35) also placed in the top eight.

Margalis moved up to sixth in the world rankings with her swim this morning.
