Energy Standard will be without IM and distance free specialist Max Litchfield on Sunday and Monday in their second meet of the ISL season as Litchfield announced he will be staying in his hotel room in Budapest because of a “bug going around the (ISL) bubble.”

The ISL bubble was created to isolate the professional swimmers from the COVID-19 pandemic so they can focus on racing and training in one spot for a six-week period. There have been no confirmed cases of coronavirus in the ISL bubble but Litchfield’s Instagram post lets us believe he is just dealing with a minor illness and should be ready to go for Energy Standard’s third meet November 5 – 6.

Energy Standard will be racing Sunday and Monday against the Toronto Titans, Aqua Centurions and New York Breakers. The team will notably be without reigning league MVP Sarah Sjostrom, who will be nursing some back issues.

Max Litchfield this season is ranked third in the 400 IM, 9th in the 400 free and 16th in the 200 IM.
