Matt Thompson Sets National High School Record in 200 IM
MANSFIELD, Texas, February 14. MATT Thompson, a Swimming World six-star signee of Stanford University, shot down the national high school record in the 200-yard IM in regional action in Texas.
Thompson, who already had a 1:44.34 to his credit while swimming for the Dallas Mustangs, put together a comparable time while wearing a Jesuit High cap with a record-time of 1:45.75.
The performance eclipsed the independent high school record of 1:46.31 set by Bradley Ally of St. Thomas Aquinas in 2004, which also stood as the overall national high school record. Kyle Whitaker's 1:46.75 set for Chesterton last February still stands as the public school record.
