Matt Kredich, Ray Looze, Kate Lundsten Named in ISCA Hall of Fame Class of 2026

Matt Kredich, Ray Looze and Kate Lundsten were named by the International Swimming Coaches Association as part of the ISCA Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

The three coaches will be inducted on April 17 during the ORCA Awards Weekend in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Kredich is the director of swimming and diving at the University of Tennessee. A four-time SEC Coach of the Year, he’s led the Lady Vols to SEC titles in 2020 and 2022. Tennessee’s men’s and women’s teams have finished in the top 10 at NCAAs each of the last three seasons; the programs had never had simultaneous top-10 finishes in program history before 2023.

Since his hiring before the 2005-06 season, Kredich has guided Tennessee athletes to 102 conference and 12 NCAA titles, collecting 807 All-American certificates and six SEC Swimmer of the Year honors.

“I’m very grateful to the International Swim Coaches Association for this recognition, and for its commitment to education, shared learning, and the advancement of the sport of competitive swimming,” Kredich said in a press release. “Coaching is about relationships, collaboration and shared vision, and any success I’ve been a part of reflects the incredible athletes, colleagues, and mentors I’ve been fortunate to learn from along the way.”

Kredich has also coached 24 Olympians at Tennessee, including 17 who competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with two medals, five national records and seven finals appearances.

Looze is in his 24th season at Indiana University. A 15-time Big Ten Coach of the Year, he’s led his teams to 14 Big Ten team championships and 23 NCAA individual or relay championships. He was named National Coach of the Year by ASCA in 2017 and CSCAA in 2018.

The men’s program has been no worse than sixth at NCAAs every year since 2018, with three third-place finishes and four consecutive conference titles. The women’s program was fourth at NCAAs last year, improving the program-best seventh-place result the year prior. Looze’s Indiana swimmers have collected 781 All-America awards.

Lundsten has been the head coach of Aquajets Swim Team in Minnesota since 2004. She has more than 30 years of coaching experience overall. Lundsten has been part of U.S. national team staffs for the 2017 World Junior Championships, 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships and 2019 Pan American Games. Her pupils include two American Olympians.

She was a 24-time All-American swimmer who has been part of swimming governance in a number of capacities, including as a USA Swimming board member starting in 2025.
