Massive Swimming World Recruiting Update; State of Florida Mopping Up

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 3. RECRUITING has been fast and furious the past week or so, with quite a few of the top recruits in the country flying off the shelves and deciding where they plan on attending college next year.

Jillian Vitarius, whose profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings has her ranked as a five-star prospect, is a backstroke star in waiting on the collegiate scene. Vitarius, who owns a personal best time of 1:54.04 in the women's 200-yard back, would have qualified for the B final in the event at last year's 2011 NCAA Division I Championships. She's chosen to attend Auburn. The Blue Tide Aquatics swimmer who preps at Kingwood High also has a pair of strong long course meter times: 100m back 1:02.27; 200m back 2:12.97.

Adam Bull, whose profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings ranks him with a five-star ranking, has made a commitment to Florida. Bull is a distance specialist from the City of Richardson Swim Team, who preps at J.J. Pearce High. His best times are senior national cuts in the 1500m free 16:01.11; 400m IM 4:32.90.

Derek Pridemore, whose profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings ranks him with a five-star ranking, has will be attending Florida State University next fall. Pridemore is also a distance specialist, hailing from Sarasota YMCA and prepping at Venice High. Pridemore's top swims are senior national cuts in the 400m free 3:59.68; 1500m free 15:38.14.

Four-star Kelsey Buckley is headed to Florida State University. The Palm Harbor Y product, who preps at Tarpon Springs High, has a senior cut in the 200-meter IM (2:20.57).

Three-star Bianca Spinazzola is on another recruit her way to Florida State. Spinazzola, who trains with Bluefish and preps at Narragansett High, has junior national cuts in three events: 100y free 0:51.03; 100y back 0:55.51; 100y fly 0:55.59.
