Marvin Johnson Erases Sprint Records At TISCA Championships

The 2023 TISCA State Swimming & Diving Championship took place Feb. 10-11 at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on UT’s campus in Knoxville, Tenn.

Five state records fell during the meet, one on the girls side and four from the boys. McCallie School’s Marvin Johnson impressed by breaking two state marks: first in the 50 free in 19.87 before lowering the 100 free record to 43.60. He was named the TISCA Male Swimmer of the Year.

Ensworth School claimed the girls’ title while McCallie School edged out Baylor School to win it on the boys’ side. Baylor School claimed the combined championship for the 18th consecutive year.
