Margo Geer Sprints to 50 Free Victory in Atlanta

Women’s 50 Free

Margo Geer continued to capitalize on her 2018 comeback with a top showing in the 50 free final in Atlanta. Geer posted the only sub-25 second swim of the night with a time of 24.78, improving upon her 24.83 from the TYR Pro Swim Series stop in Austin. Her time of 24.78 edges her closer to Australia’s Bronte Campbell’s fourth place world ranking of 24.71.

Olivia Smoliga picked up a second place finish in finals with a time of 25.14, followed closely by Cal Aquatics’ Farida Osman and her time of 25.29.

Sprinting stalwart Lia Neal added a fourth place finish with a time of 25.33, while Mission Viejo’s Isabella Arcila took fifth with a time of 25.41.

HPC-Ontario’s Kayla Sanchez (25.43), Trojan Swim Club’s Anika Apostalon (25.47), and Mission Viejo’s Amanda Kendall (25.67) finished sixth through eighth respectively.
