NEW COMMIT: Frisco, Texas breaststroker and high school junior Jadyn Jannasch has announced her verbal commitment to Louisiana State for the fall of 2020. Her older brother, Jack Jannasch, is currently a freshman on the Tigers’ roster.

Jannasch does her club swimming with Lakeside Aquatic Club and owns the U.S. Open cut in the 100 breast and the Winter Nationals standard in the 200 breast. She raced both breaststroke events at Junior Nationals after recording a best time at Austin Speedo Sectionals. She competed in three events at Juniors West last winter and earned the silver and bronze, respectively, in the 100 breast and 200 breast at College Station Speedo Sectionals in March.

Also competing for Frisco High School, Jannasch is a four-time UIL Texas 5A State Championship qualifier. She finished second in the 100 breast during both her freshman and sophomore seasons. Jannasch has also earned NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors during her career.

She told Swimming World:

“My goal has been to commit to a college with great coaches, team comradery and an exciting campus environment… LSU has it all!!! I am so excited to be part of this swim program! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:02.31
  • 200 breast – 2:15.61
  • 50 free – 24.73
  • 100 free – 54.12

When she suits up for the Tigers as a member of the class of 2024, Jannasch will add valuable breaststroke depth to their lineup and will have two years of overlap with Allie McDaid. Although she currently sits outside of scoring range at the SEC Championships, she has made significant improvements over the past two seasons, shaving off five seconds from her 100 breast and ten from her 200 breast.
