Louisville Secures 2025 Verbal Pledge From Junior National Finalist Kaitlyn Sallows

NEW COMMIT: The University of Louisville has received its first public verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from U.S. Open qualifier Kaitlyn Sallows of Delaware, Ohio.

She told Swimming World:

“I am thrilled to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Louisville. I am grateful for my family, coaches especially Lew Timberman, teammates and friends for their endless support. A huge thanks to Arthur and the entire UofL coaching staff for this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait for my four years in the VILLE”
Sallows had a breakout summer long course season, placing 12th in the 200m fly, 19th in the 400m IM and 24th in the 200m IM at Junior Nationals. She won those three events at the Ohio Long Course Championships, too.
Sallows, who trains with Buckeye Swim Club, raced to 13th in the 200 fly and 16th in the 400 IM at Juniors East last December.

Her best times include:

  • 200 IM – 2:02.04
  • 400 IM – 4:16.84
  • 100 fly – 55.81
  • 200 fly – 1:59.83
  • 500 free – 4:53.23
  • 1650 free – 16:46.84

Currently a junior at Rutherford B. Hayes High School, Sallows finished second in the 500 free and fourth in the 200 IM at the 2023 Ohio DI State Championships. She placed eighth and sixth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

Sallows’ rate of improvement has been impressive. Over the past year, she has dropped two seconds in the 100 fly and 200 IM, as well as six seconds in the 200 fly and 400 IM.
