Chanler Turnley has verbally committed to the University of San Diego. Turnley swims for Crawfish Aquatics in Baton Rouge, LA.

Her best times are:

  • 100 Free 52.58
  • 200 Free 1:53.74
  • 100 Breast 1:07.58
  • 200 Breast 2:26.07

At the 2015 Louisiana High School State Championships Turnley put together a successful meet. She won the 100 freestyle in 52.80 but came up a tenth shy of the state record. Turnley then led off Episcopal High School’s 400 freestyle relay in a record setting time of 52.58. As a whole the relay broke an 18 year old state record. Turnely also stopped the clock in record breaking time in the 200 freestyle. She touched in 1:55.25, lowering a 1996 record by two full seconds.

She joins a San Diego Class of 2021 that includes Anna Luckenbach and Lillian Benwell. Benwell is primarily a breaststroker while Luckenbach is a strong freestyler, so the two have some overlap with the most recent commit. San Diego finished sixth at the 2016 MPSF Conference Championships. Turnley would be a 100 and 200 freestyle and a 100 and 200 breaststroke C finalist with her best times.
