Anna Luckenbach has given her verbal commitment to the University of San Diego. Luckenbach lives in Wildwood, MO and swims for Rockwood Swim Club under coach Mary Liston. She is a strong backstroker and mid-distance to distance freestyler.

Her best times are:

  • 200 Free 1:52.94
  • 500 Free 5:03.38
  • 1000 Free 10:31.71
  • 1650 Free 17:15.68
  • 100 Back 58.83
  • 200 Back 2:07.97

Luckenbach shared,

“The academically driven team, great coaches, and beautiful campus made me fall in love with USD! I can’t wait to continue my academic and swimming careers there. Go Toreros!”

She is a senior at Lafayette High School, though only swam for her high school her freshman year. The Toreros also picked up a verbal commitment from Lillian Benwell earlier this week. Benwell is a strong IMer who also excels in the 100s of strokes.

At the 2016 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, Luckenbach would have finished tenth in the mile. In the 500 freestyle she would have been a B finalist. She also would have earned a consolation swim in the 200 freestyle. Luckenbach could also earn a place on the school’s 800 freestyle relay. Last year the splits ranged from 1:49.02 to 1:52.86.
