Louisiana Division 2 High School State Championships

SULPHUR, Louisiana, November 23. VANDEBILT Catholic and Lutcher won state titles at the Louisiana Division 2 High School State Championships. The Vandebilt Catholic girls scored 366 points for first while St. Louis placed second (308) and Cabrinihigh took third (272). On the boys' side, Lutcher and Vandebilt Catholic went head-to-head for first. Lutcher came out on top with 364.5 points followed by Vandebilt Catholic (354.5) and Alexandria (222).

Girls Results
Anee Briglio, Rhyan Thomassie, Brittany Daigle, and Abby Knight (Vandebilt Catholic) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:58.98. Daigle and Thomassie also had individual wins in the 100 butterfly (1:06.11) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.41) respectively.

Sarah Davies (Caddo Magnet) was a dual event winner in the 200 IM (2:22.47) and the 500 freestyle (5:27.14).

Lutcher's Kassidy Zeringue, Mallory Duhe, Kristen Roussel, and Keri Zeringue won the 200 freestyle relay (1:47.50).

Junior Emily Bozant (Cabrinihigh) won the 50 (25.51) and 100 (56.36) freestyles. She teamed up with Marissa Burridge, Jesslyn Digiovanni, and Kelsey Bradbury for a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:58.49).

Boys Results
Vandebilt Catholic's Brennan Page, Kip Pierce, Elie McRae, and Christopher Watson won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.31. Page and McRae had individual wins in the 100 backstroke (57.50) and the 200 IM (2:08.61) respectively.

Dylon Rykosky (East Jefferson) won the 200 (1:47.39) and 500 (4:55.55) freestyles.

Senior Hunter Louque (Lutcher) won the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.42. He teamed up with Jayce Whitlow, Mason Duhe, and Blake Roussel for a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.76).

Kip Pierce (Vandebilt Catholic) had individual wins in the 100 butterfly (53.24) and the 100 breaststroke (1:02.33).

Whitlow, Mark Pousson, Roussel, and Louque closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:26.71).
