NEW COMMIT: Dreieich, Germany native Anna Elendt has announced her commitment to the University of Texas and will arrive in Austin at the start of the 2020-21 season.

Elendt does her club swimming with DSW 1912 Darmstadt and is a member of the German National Team. This past season, she was Germany’s top performer in both the 50m and 100m breast. At the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, she finished seventh in the 50m breast, 24th in the 100m breast, and was a member of the ninth-place 4x100m medley relay that secured its Olympic qualification. She recently won the 50m breast at the FINA World Cup in Berlin and earned gold in the 50m/100m breast combo at German Nationals.

In LCM, her best times include:

  • 50m breast – 30.93
  • 100m breast – 1:08.06
  • 200m breast – 2:29.72

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 breast – 26.96
  • 100 breast – 59.51
  • 200 breast – 2:11.72

Elendt will be a huge addition to the Longhorns’ lineup when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024 both individually and on medley relays. Her best times (converted to yards) would’ve won the 100 breast and 200 breast at the 2019 Big 12 Championships. Her best 100 breast converted time also would’ve scored in the B-final at the 2019 NCAA Championships where Texas placed fifth overall in the team standings.
