Lithuania’s Daniil Pancerevas Verbally Commits to Virginia Tech for 2023

NEW COMMIT: Klaipeda, Lithuania native Daniil Pancerevas has announced his verbal commitment to Virginia Tech and will arrive in Blacksburg in the fall of 2023.

He will join Brendan Whitfield of Forest, Virginia, as a member of the Hokies’ Class of 2027.

He told Swimming World:

“I am so honored and blessed to be able to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Virginia Tech!!! I couldn’t have done it without my  family, friends, coaches.Thanks to Virginia Tech and Coach Sergio for this incredible oppurtunity.Big thanks to Coaches Jandra, Colin, and Natalja , who had been working with me for many years!GO HOKIES! #virginiatech #gohokies”

Pancerevas trains with Klaipėdos Gintaro SC and most recently earned four best times at the Lithuanian Swimming Championships last month. Last May, he raced three events at the LEN European Championships before going on to final in four events at the Lithuanian National Championships.

In LCM, his best times include:

  • 50m free – 23.75
  • 100m free – 50.22
  • 200m free – 1:49.40
  • 50m fly – 24.62
  • 100m fly – 54.69

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 free – 20.66
  • 100 free – 43.84
  • 200 free – 1:35.72
  • 50 fly – 21.54
  • 100 fly – 48.01

Under head coach Sergio Lopez, the Hokies finished third overall in the team standings at the 2021 ACC Championships.
