Lilly Byrne Grabs Third Win on Night Three of Tupelo Speedo Sectionals

The meet’s low attendance doesn’t stop swimmers from racing fast and posting personal best times at the 2018 Speedo Sectionals in Tulepo, Miss.

Day Three Final Results

Women’s 400 Free

Chatahoochee Gold’s Lilly Byrne cruised to first in night three’s opening event, getting her hand to the wall first in 4:27.96. She also won the 200 free and the 800 free earlier this weekend. MTS’ Kathryn Epperson finished second in 4:32.27.

Men’s 400 Free

After finishing second in both the 800 free and 200 fly earlier this weekend, Chatahoochee Gold’s Grant Davis finally got his gold medal in the men’s 400 free. He won with a time of 4:07.12 followed by MTS’ Christopher Robinson who took second in 4:08.66.

Women’s 100 Fly

Not too long after taking second in the women’s 400 free, Epperson was back in the water for the 100 fly. The 16-year-old won the event in 1:06.20, followed by her teammates Mary Miller Goldberg (1:06.63) and Lucy Patterson (1:07.03).

Men’s 100 Fly

MMST’ Eien McGee powered his way to first place in the men’s 100 fly, taking the title in a new personal best time of 56.80. MTS’ Warren Turner took second in 57.23 and SWAT’ Donovan Crossen finished third in 58.57.

Women’s 100 Breast

In what proved to be a close women’s 100 breast dual, MTS’ Amelia Steiner came out on top with a time of 1:17.50. Chatahoochee Gold’s Sarah Brown was close behind in 1:17.55.

Men’s 100 Breast

In another close race, Chatahoochee Gold’s Jordan Dunn got his hands to the wall first in the men’s 100 breast with a time of 1:06.45. His teammate Langston Weddington finished second in 1:06.97.

Prelims for the fourth and final day of competition will begin tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. CDT.
