Bixby, Oklahoma’s Liberty Howell has verbally committed to Missouri State. Howell is homeschooled and swims for Coach David Lynn at Swim Tulsa.

This summer she turned in an eighth place 800 freestyle at Futures (Austin) after finals swims in the 200 and 800 free at Sectionals in Columbia. Howell holds several Oklahoma State records and is a multiple time Oklahoma age group state champion.

Her best times are:

SCY
100 fr: 52.11
200 fr: 1:51.71
500 fr: 4:57.65
1,000 fr: 10:07.24

LCM
100 fr: 58.50
200 fr: 2:05.78
400 fr: 4:24.84
800 fr: 9:04.89

Howell shared that she is considering majoring in exercise science. While her sister Quincy will have graduated, she is a current senior on the team. That was a contributing factor to Howell’s decision, “I really loved the team at Missouri State and I felt at home there.”

Howell should score conference points in her new home. At last year’s Missouri Valley Conference Meet, she would have been a 200 and 500 freestyle A finalist.

She joins a recruiting class that includes Madison BrownAnna Miller, and Taylor Beadle.
