NEW COMMIT: Newfields, N.H. native Hannah Lord will make the move to Bethlehem, Pa. next fall after verbally committing to Lehigh University.

Lord swims year-round with Seacoast Swimming and capped off her long course season at Richmond Futures. She achieved a trio of lifetime bests at Ithaca Speedo Sectionals and won the mile at the Bowdoin Open. Lord led Exeter High School to a 2018 New Hampshire State Championship team title last season as a junior. She won the 200 IM and was the 200 free runner-up while guiding her team to two relay wins.

She told Swimming World:

“I chose Lehigh because of the fantastic environment of the team and the school! I was so happy to work with Eric and Rob, and am excited to work with them for the next four years! I can’t wait to be a mountain hawk! Go Lehigh!!”

Her best times include:

  • 500 free – 5:04.29
  • 1000 free – 10:19.48
  • 1650 free – 17:05.92
  • 200 IM – 2:08.09
  • 400 IM – 4:29.80

Lord will add valuable depth to the Mountain Hawks’ distance group when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2023. Her fastest mile time would’ve ranked second on the team last season and would’ve placed in the top-12 at the 2018 Patriot League Championships. Both her IMs would’ve sat in third on Lehigh’s roster while her 400 IM would’ve scored in the B-final at last season’s conference meet.
