NEW COMMIT: Coleman Kredich is following in his father’s footsteps, verbally committing to swim for Duke University beginning in the fall of 2019. A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Kredich swims for Tennessee Aquatics. He’s a junior at Knoxville West High School.

Kredich is primarily a freestyler, getting faster as the distance gets shorter. His best SCY times are:

  • 50 Free 20.45
  • 100 Free 45.26
  • 200 Free 1:40.29
  • 500 Free 4:45.17

At this winter’s Tennessee High School state championships Kredich finished runner up in the 50 freestyle (20.45) and third in the 100 freestyle (45.34). He also led off (21.12) his team’s 13th place 200 freestyle relay and swam first (46.08) on their 15th place 400 freestyle relay.

He wrote,

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Duke University in the fall of 2019.”

Kredich’s dad, Matt, the current Head Coach at the University of Tennessee, graduated from Duke in 1988 after a successful backstroke career for the Blue Devils.
