The Latvia Swimming Federation is sending two swimmers to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Uvis Kalnins earned a B cut in the 200 IM and will be the nation’s representative for the men. At the 2015 World Championships, Kalnins touched 17th with a 2:00.39. That time stands as the national record. At the London Games in 2012, he finished 30th in the 100 freestyle.

Alonas Ribakova has been granted a universality place. She will enter her first Olympic Games in the 200 breaststroke. Ribakova holds the national record in the 100 and the 200 meter breaststrokes.

Swimming begins on August 6 in Rio.
