Lady Vols Secure Verbal From Junior National Runner-Up Emily Brown

NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has received a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season from Emily Brown of Dublin, Ohio.

She will join Josie Connelly and Jillian Crooks in Knoxville as a member of the Lady Vols’ Class of 2028.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am SUPER excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Tennessee!! Thank you so much to my family, coaches, friends and teammates who have supported me through this process and helped guide me to this point. Thank you to all the UTK coaches for giving me this amazing opportunity. I am so thrilled to call Rocky Top home! Go Vols!!”

Brown, who trains year-round with Dublin Community Swim Team, finished fourth in the 200 IM and fifth in the 400 IM at Juniors East last month. Last summer, she earned silver in the 200m IM at Junior Nationals where she also raced to sixth in the 400m IM.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 22.89
  • 100 free – 49.70
  • 200 free – 1:46.91
  • 500 free – 4:45.47
  • 100 back – 53.70
  • 200 back – 1:56.08
  • 200 IM – 1:57.73
  • 400 IM – 4:13.55

Currently a junior at Coffman High School, Brown won both the 200 free and 500 free at the Ohio State Championships in 2021 and 2022.

She’s a great get for the Lady Vols as her current best times would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 back and 500 free at the 2022 SEC Championships.
