Knepper Named ACC Swimmer of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md., February 9. MARYLAND junior Megan Knepper (Williamsport, Md.) was named ACC Swimmer of the Week this week for her performance Saturday against Virginia.

Knepper broke her own school record in the 200-yard backstroke for the second time this season, posting an NCAA automatic-qualifying time of 1:58.02. She also led off the winning 400-free and 400-medley relays. Her 54.90 backstroke split in the 400-medley relay and her 50.50 split in the 400-free relay were both 'B' cut times.

No. 19 Maryland (11-0, 6-0 ACC) defeated No. 18 Virginia 137-106 Saturday, completing a perfect season and clinching the ACC regular-season title. Knepper is the second Terp in as many weeks to be honored by the ACC, and third this season.

The Terps return to the pool Feb. 18 for the four-day ACC Championship in Charlottesville, Va.
