Knabe Sets Canadian Record of 1:00.70 for 100m Breast at World Champs Trials

VICTORIA, B.C., July 1. MORGAN Knabe blasted his own Canadian record of 1:00.95 in the 100m breaststroke in a time trial on the final day of the Canadian World Championship Trials in Victoria, B.C.

Knabe clocked 1:00.70, a time that makes him a genuine threat to medal in Barcelona.

In other events, Chuck Sayao won the men's 400 IM in 4:19.66 to earn a spot on the WC team. Second place went to Brian JOhns, who already qualified for the team and who set a short course WR in this event in March.

Kurtis MacGillivary,who earlier set a national record in the 800 free, won the 1500 freestyle in 15:19.69.

Lis Warden, won the women's 400 IM in 4:46.11, just under the Q-time for World Champs. Earlier she won the 200 IM and placed second in the 200 back, making the cuts for Barcelona in both.
