Kirsty Coventry Named Chairperson for Youth Olympics in Senegal 2022

Olympian Kirsty Coventry has been named Chairperson of the Senegal Youth Olympic Games Coordination Commission 2022.

The event, announced earlier this week, will be the first Olympic event of any kind in the continent of Africa.

Coventry announced her acceptance on Twitter.

I have just been appointed Chairperson of the Senegal Youth Olympic Games Coordination Commission 2022. This means I will be working even more closely with our Senegal family to create a successful African Olympics.#Senegal #YouthOlympics #Olympics #Youth #Africa

Coventry, who is an Olympic gold medalist from Zimbabwe, was appointed her home country’s Minister Sport last month.
