Kira Toussaint a Leader on Dutch Team for European Championships
The Royal Dutch Swimming Federation has announced the Netherlands’ roster for the 2016 European Championships. The nation will send a 21 member team, with 14 women and seven men competing.
SEC relay champion Kira Toussaint is headed to Rio later this summer, but will first compete in London. Another NCAA All-American, Andrea Kneppers is also on the team. Olympic medalist Femke Heemskerk also highlights the roster.
They’re joined by Kim Busch, Maaike de Waard, Inge Dekker, Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Robin Neumann, Marrit Steenbergen, Esmee Vermeulen, Maud van der Meer, Wendy van der Zanden, Sharon van Rouwendaal and Tamara van Vliet.
2012 Olympian Dion Dreesens leads the Dutch men’s team.
The other six members are Maarten Brzoskowski, , Joost Reijns, Ben Schwietert, Kyle Stolk, Joeri Verlinden and Sebastiaan Verschuren.
The meet starts two weeks from today.

You say that this young person “leads” the Netherlands team. Is she the captain of this team? Because I think, performances speaking, that the leader should be Ranomi Kromowidjojo?
